    About the Role:

    The position will assist the Estimating team with providing support for estimates on small and medium electrical projects. The goal is to help the intern by offering hands-on experience and assisting them on a career path with CSI, while developing company core values: a passion for problem-solving, commitment to giving your best, respect for all, learning relevant aspects of the business, and being an asset to the team.

    Essential Functions

    • Learn to analyze and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and other bid documents
    • Learn to perform accurate electrical take-offs for a diverse range of electrical construction projects
    • Learn to understand Scope of Work to bid as well as resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
    • Learn electrical construction materials and understand installation processes
    • Learn and be familiar with the National/California Electrical Codes, Local Codes, and Title 24
    • Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors and subcontractors
    • Learn to manage bid pricing from vendors
    • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
    • Learn to use computer software such as Accubid, LiveCount, and Bluebeam to calculate estimates
    • Work as a team member as well as independently
    • Attend job walks with the GC or the client
    • Participate in pre/final bid review meetings

    About You:

    Qualifications

    • A Bachelors degree in a construction, engineering, or business-related field from an accredited college or university preferred. *
      * An equivalent combination of electrical construction field experience and relevant work experience may be
      substituted.

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel and Word primarily)
    • Industry knowledge preferred
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Ability to work in a team environment
    • Ability to assess time of completion and required resources needed to meet a deadline
    • Ability to take ownership and accountability
    • Positive attitude and customer focus
    • Strong organization skills
    • Proactive attitude, showing initiative and the ability to work independently
    • Dependability and punctuality for all CSI activities

    Physical Demands

    • Frequently works outdoors on uneven surfaces
    • May be required to sit or stand for long periods of time
    • May be required to stoop, bend, and crouch

    Work Environment

    • Works in a climate-controlled environment 50% of the time
    • May work in varying weather conditions: hot, cold, and wet conditions
    • Frequently works in areas with large industrial equipment subject to high noise levels
    • May occasionally work in areas with hazardous chemicals
