One of Chicago's largest medical practices, Northwestern Medical Group (NMG) is a primary and multispecialty group practice that consists of nearly 1,300 physicians and other healthcare professionals with expertise in 40 medical specialties. With roots in the northern Chicago region, Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital is an academic community hospital located about 30 miles north of downtown Chicago. Our Grayslake location in central Lake County includes a free-standing Emergency Department, Ambulatory Surgery Center, Endoscopy Center, Cancer Center, Diagnostic Cardiac Testing and Rehabilitation Services. More than 700 board-certified physicians practice in 68 medical specialties at Lake Forest Hospital. The hospital continues to be recognized for excellence. It is consistently included as one of the top hospitals in Illinois and Chicago by News & World Report and also has received Magnet designation, the gold standard for nursing excellence and innovation, from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
