JOB SUMMARY
Tasked with aiding healthcare provider in patient care by managing patient flow, recording medical history and vital signs, executing designated procedures, and offering patient education.
Accompanies the provider during consultations, diligently documenting clinical observations, laboratory findings, prescription renewals, procedures, billing details, and any other necessary documentation as instructed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education
Graduate of an accredited LPN program
Work Experience
Must have one (1) year LPN experience in a hospital or nursing home environment
License/Certification
Current Tennessee State Licensed Practical Nurse with no restrictions
Current CPR
Current Basic Life Support (BLS),
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through American Heart Association

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Accompany the provider during patient visits in the examination room.
Document comprehensive medical notes, including the history of present illness, review of systems, physical examination findings, diagnostic assessments, and the plan of care.
Input orders for procedures or laboratory tests as directed by the provider.
Enter billing details based on the nature of the office visit.
Assist in medical procedures as directed by the provider.
Maintain strict confidentiality and security in handling all information and data pertinent to the scribe role, in adherence to HIPAA regulations.
Keep examination rooms stocked with necessary supplies and maintain cleanliness, while also preparing equipment and assisting physicians during patient examinations, treatments, and tests.
Educate patients and their families on diagnostic procedures, medications, nutrition, and overall health maintenance.
Welcome patients, prepare them for physical examinations, and screen them for pertinent information, providing instructions for sample collection and tests as needed.
Interact professionally with colleagues and maintain accurate patient records.
Promptly report any malfunctioning medical equipment or instruments to the supervisor.
Collaborate with physicians and other departments to identify and resolve issues.
Uphold confidentiality regarding patients, employees, and clinic affairs.
OTHER DUTIES
Cleans and maintains hospital equipment and disposes of used supplies in accordance with safety standards.
Assembles materials and equipment in preparation for patient care and maintains adequate supplies.
Contributes to the attainment of the goals of HMC by using contacts with individuals and community relationships to contribute to the betterment of public understanding of health services.

Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 40 pounds during a scheduled work shift.
