    Join Our Team as a Senior/Principal Embedded Software Engineer!


    Saige Partners is looking for talented individuals to join the team of one of our top clients in the avionics and defense industry. Our positions offer competitive pay, excellent benefits, and the flexibility of remote work.


    As an engineer on our team, you will play a key role in designing, developing, integrating, and verifying embedded operating systems, applications, and drivers. Proficiency in C/C++, Python, and embedded Linux is essential for success in this role. While knowledge of DO178C DAL-A safety-critical systems and secure software development is a plus, it is not mandatory. Experience in Agile environments is preferred.


    Candidates should have a strong system-level understanding of hardware and software interactions. Excellent communication skills are a must for conveying technical information to both internal and external stakeholders. We are looking for adaptable individuals who can work well in a team, enjoy learning new technologies, and thrive in a positive work environment.


    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Design, develop, and maintain flight-critical embedded software for military and commercial aviation solutions.
    • Provide technical leadership for cross-functional engineering projects.
    • Specify requirements, develop software, conduct tests, and lead debugging efforts.
    • Collaborate with hardware architects and mentor junior developers.
    • Participate in proposals and bidding exercises.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience, or Advanced Degree with 5 years, or 12 years of relevant experience without a degree.
    • Experience in software requirements, design, implementation, testing, and delivery support.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and C programming experience.
    • Proficiency in software development best practices.
    • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Background in low-level software development and concurrent processing.
    • Python programming skills and experience in Linux environments.
    • Knowledge of software development standards like DO-178B/C.
    • Experience with real-time operating systems and network protocols.
