    Description

    The Assistant Manager will perform under the supervision of the Center Manager, and at times will take instruction from the Operations Manager and other members of the management and corporate teams. The Assistant Manager will ensure donor suitability, product integrity, and the continued good health of donors through the compliance with Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, state regulations, the Standard Operating Procedure Manual guidelines of the Company and any other applicable regulatory standards. The Assistant Center Manager must be able to work Saturdays.

    Essential Job Functions

    Assist Center Manager in ensuring all center operations, product storage, documentation, facility maintenance, quality control, and training is current and consistent with the Company's Standard Operating Procedures Manual (the "SOP"), current State and Federal guidelines, OSHA, CLIA, cGMP, and any other internal Company procedures

    • Regular review and updating, as needed, of center documentation such as logs, forms, training records, proficiency testing, and equipment validations/qualifications to ensure compliance
    • Assist in managing the center's donor flow and on-site personnel, including scheduling, managing break times, and responding to day-to-day issues and concerns; elevate issues when necessary
    • Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new hires; complete performance assessments of all designated center employees according to the SOP and perform retraining as needed
    • Report to Quality Assurance any errors/incidents that may affect the safety, purity, identity, or quality of blood products; assist in responding to Quality Assurance audits, as needed
    • Assist in reviewing, investigating and responding to most issues, donor complaints, employee concerns, post-donation information, and other operational matters in accordance with the SOP or other relevant company policies
    • Handle the receipt of positive test results or other product-related issues; oversee the quarantining and/or the destruction of questionable or unacceptable units
    • Assist with the preparation for and completion of product shipments
    • React to all security and freezer alarms or concerns that occur on or off hours
    • Assist in inventory management and purchasing of all cleaning, office and medical supplies
    • Ensure center is regularly clean, safe and organized; handle and/or report maintenance, facility, safety, and equipment concerns or issues
    • Fill in and assist with center operations, when needed
    • Perform some duties of the Center Manager in the Center Manager's absence
    • Available to travel to other facility(ies) for training or assisting other center's staffing needs
    • Other duties, as assigned
    Requirements

    Education:
    • High School Diploma, required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree, preferred in Management, Business, Nursing, Finance, or science related field

    • Ability to lift, pull, tug up to 50 pounds to stock supplies and/or move or support donors
    • Regularly required to use hands and fingers, to handle & feel objects, tools and controls; reach with hands and arms.
    • Vision abilities required by this job, including close vision.
    • Required to stand for extended intervals, walk, climb and balance; stoop, kneel and crouch.
    • Physical ability to operate equipment used on donor floor areas that may require repetitive motion and manual dexterity.
    • Ability to read while standing or sitting in front of a computer for short periods of time.
    • Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) required such as eyewear, lab coats, and gloves
