    Purpose of Role:
    We are looking for an experienced Welding Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer with a focus on Welding to support our Mining and Construction bucket fabrication site in Covington, KY. The ideal candidate should have a solid background in steel sheet and plate welding processes in a production setting. This individual will work on improving welding process efficiency, developing and implementing welding processes, integrating ergonomic and human factor enhancements, and automation. This role involves extensive collaboration within a strong team.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Welding Process Optimization
    • Evaluate current welding processes and standards.
    • Create fixtures and tools to aid in product fabrication.
    • Devise, evaluate, and implement enhancements to boost productivity, quality, and safety.
    • Explore alternate processes and techniques that can enhance productivity, quality, and safety.
    Welding Automation
    • Devise and implement automation to elevate manufacturing efficiency.
    • Automate data flow to and from welding equipment.
    • Track and compare industry trends and pertinent research and development.
    Design for Manufacturing
    • Collaborate with Product Design teams to optimize product blueprints for streamlined manufacturing.
    • Develop inspection approaches, tolerance assessments, and process capability.
    Technical Leadership
    • Guide site staff keen on expanding their welding expertise.
    • Build connections across ESCO sites to establish best practices in welding and fabrication.
    • Cultivate a collaborative, inventive, and efficient work atmosphere.
    Safety First
    • Display unwavering commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our journey to cultivate a first-rate safety culture.
    Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
    • Holder of a Bachelor of Science in Welding Engineering, Welding Engineering Technology, or Engineering with extensive experience in welding support.
    • Demonstrated achievements in supporting and enhancing steel sheet and plate welding processes within a production environment.
    • Mechanical design expertise, proficiency in CAD modeling and analysis tools, and experience in designing welding fixtures and production tools.
    • Background in ferrous metallurgy and failure analysis.
    • Experience in overlay, metal additive manufacturing, and castings is advantageous.
    • Experience in optimizing machining processes is a bonus.
