Job Summary:

The Buyer Planner plays a crucial role in managing the procurement of components from suppliers and coordinating scheduling to ensure timely delivery of parts for production needs. Serving as the key communication and logistics liaison between multiple departments including Value Streams, Marketing, and Purchasing.

Essential Functions:

• Conduct material requirements planning by closely collaborating with manufacturing personnel and external suppliers to support the Value Stream
• Communicate priorities and any schedule changes with Outside Processing Suppliers on a daily basis to accommodate production requirements
• Maintain positive relationships with suppliers, address common supplier issues with Leadership and Procurement Specialists
• Participate in inventory reviews to uphold proper inventory levels and achieve production component turnover objectives
• Utilize both push and pull signals to replenish materials and avoid part shortages
• Monitor supplier orders to ensure timely delivery to support the Value Stream
• Adhere to sourcing strategies on purchase orders to drive cost reduction initiatives and maintain supplier quality and lead times
• Request quotes from suppliers for production materials and Outside Processing operations
• Collaborate with sourcing teams to optimize procurement practices and leverage cost savings
• Produce daily shortage reports to communicate supplier delivery status
• Resolve invoice discrepancies promptly
• Manage supplier quality through the NCR process; Coordinate with various teams to address discrepant materials
• Work with suppliers and Quality Engineers to address Corrective Action Requests from NCRs
• Handle Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) and process return transactions in the ERP System
• Assist in cross-functional projects and Kaizen events across the site
• Undertake any other tasks delegated by supervisors or management

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience: 3+ years in purchasing within a relevant industry or demonstrated knowledge of supply chain through work or education
• Knowledge: Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, buying procedures, and production planning; Familiarity with material requirements planning systems and inventory control
• Skills/Abilities: Strong communication skills, proficiency in MS Office, ability to coordinate schedules and materials across teams, problem-solving skills related to production
• Education/Certification: High School diploma or equivalent
• Eligibility Requirement: Role may involve access to Controlled Data; Only US Persons will be considered due to ITAR compliance

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in regulated manufacturing environments
• BA or BS degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field

Top Benefits:

Salary range: $83,000 to 118,000. Actual salary influenced by experience, skills, and qualifications. Certain roles may be eligible for performance-based bonuses.
