This position will work with the Executive Associate Dean and the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs to provide a variety of services for students, staff, and faculty members in the College of Dentistry's academic programs.
The Ohio State University College of Dentistry is the third largest public dental school in the United States, and it is the only public dental school in Ohio. The college is divided into ten sections or academic units. All major ADA-recognized dental specialties are represented.
Working with the Executive Associate Dean, this position directs the activities related to faculty and teaching development; consults with and supports faculty regarding instructional technology and instructional design; collaborates in the identification of appropriate outcomes assessment measures; coordinates various projects and reports; and provides consultation/instruction and support to faculty and administration regarding research and grant opportunities.
Working with the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, this position assists and supports the Office of Academic Affairs in areas related to curriculum development, management, evaluation, and student academic progress; collaborates in the identification of appropriate outcomes assessment measures; develops and coordinates various projects and reports related to program outcomes and accreditation.
Work is performed primarily in an office environment and the employee in this class is subject to inside environmental conditions. This position requires sustained periods using a keyboard and performing other computer work. Requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, which permits the employee to function in a general office environment to accomplish tasks.
This position requires successful completion of a background check and drug & alcohol screening.
Qualifications
Required. Bachelor's degree and 4+ years' relevant experience, such as educational administration, program assessment, learning technology, instructional design or biomedical education, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience (8 or more years). Considerable knowledge of education administration and principles, program assessment and outcomes reporting. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong skills and experience with working in teams and able to work independently. Basic skills using spreadsheets, learning management systems (e.g., Canvas), and comfortable learning teaching and learning technologies.
Desired: A Master's degree in a relevant field, such as educational administration, program assessment, learning technology, or biomedical education or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience: Experience in a dental school academic environment. Experience that demonstrates strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to establish rapport with persons of diverse backgrounds, which also includes experience working with students, staff, and faculty. Must possess a professional demeanor and have experience that demonstrates problem solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks. Experience in instructional design with proven outcomes. Basic skills using media management platforms (e.g., Mediasite) and survey tools (e.g., Qualtrics).
