    Job Summary

    Supervises the daily activities of assigned Echocardiograph staff. Performs echocardiogram exams according to departmental protocols using cognitive skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information, and images.
    Job Responsibilities
    • Determines, coordinates, and supervises daily staffing assignments and staffing levels.
    • Trains, coaches, and evaluates assigned staff on performance expectations.
    • Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels.
    • Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.
    • Coordinates patient care with other members of the healthcare team to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.
    • Assists with equipment quality control testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
    • Ensures compliance with regulatory standards and Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) requirements, including pursuing and maintaining applicable accreditations.
    • Makes recommendations and assists with equipment selection, purchase, and installation when replacements are required.
    • Conducts and coordinates echocardiograph conferences and education including annual competencies.
    • Prepares preliminary reports and contacts referring physicians when required, according to established procedures.
    • Provides proper documentation for each patient/exam.
    • Assists cardiologists with performing transesophageal echo studies and stress echo studies.
    • Acts as liaison between echocardiograph technical staff, manager, cardiologists, information technology, and biomed departments.
    Qualifications
    • Associate's degree or higher in Medical Sonography required upon hire OR
    • Associate's degree or higher in related field required upon hire
    • A combination of education, training and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
    • A minimum of 2 years' relevant experience required
    • RDCS - Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer required upon hire OR
    • RCS - Registered Cardiac Sonographer required upon hire AND
    • BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment in this position
