- Serves as hands-on lead person in designing all application software.
- Support Financial Systems and all 3rd party application integrations.
- Provide support for ADP application and interface.
- Functions as the IT Department liaison with other RTA departments in determining user computer support requirements.
- Performs hands-on design of RTA's applications software
- Performs system analyses of existing systems modification and enhancement.
- Performs feasibility studies of potential new electronic data processing systems applications.
- Prepares reports and makes presentations relative to the findings.
- Analyzes systems performance to ensure compliance with end-user requirements.
- Prepares system documentation.
- Coordinates systems installation with contractors.
- Coordinates systems data conversion with user groups, temporary key operators, and contractors.
- Coordinates systems parallel operations with user groups, temporary key operators, and contractors
- Coordinates user training with user groups, contractors, and the RTA's IT Department

The Regional Transit Authority gets people moving around New Orleans. Our transit services bring hard-working commuters to their jobs, students to their schools, and fun seekers to entertainment, shopping areas, and restaurants. We provide mobility to residents of the city as well as tourists, taking them to and from their hotels to historical neighborhoods and countless attractions. RTA's system includes 5 streetcar lines, 30 bus routes, 2 ferry routes, and paratransit services. Our passengers take more than 19 million rides every year.

JOB SUMMARY
Provides for systems analyses, design, and development expertise; applications software maintenance, applications software design, development, modification, testing, debugging, and documentation; end-user training. This position works with confidential information requiring discretion, a high level of independent and professional judgment, and strong interpersonal and communication skills.

EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or related field.
EXPERIENCE
A minimum of one (1) or two (2) years of recent hands-on electronic data processing experience. Experience with RPG, RPG Or RPG/400 programming language. Experience in a networked, distributed processing environment is highly desirable. Knowledge of and experience with OS/400 or System 36/38 processing environment, Cloud-based applications, and a thorough knowledge of the Office 365 Suite.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times. (The company to determine if the position is a safety-sensitive position.) Normal office environment
