    Who We Are

    Colorado Retina is a thirteen physician, sub-specialty eye care practice providing medical and surgical care of vitreoretinal eye disease. We provide comprehensive treatment for age-related macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular disease, retinal detachments, ocular tumors, uveitis/inflammatory eye disease, inherited retinal degenerations and numerous other vitreoretinal conditions.

    Pay Range:

    • $ $29.81 per hour

    Position Summary:

    This position is designed to provide the opportunity for growth and development of Uveitis Clinics Colorado Retina Associates. This position requires working directly with patients in need of intraocular injections, labs drawn from on outside lab corporation, infusion within the office, hospital or outpatient setting. Extensive knowledge of General Ophthalmology is preferred. The Treatment Coordinator will need to be able to navigate through (NextGen-Practice Management) as well as the EHR (Electronic Health Record). This position is required to work with patients, Dr. Dacey, Dr. Levison, CRA physicians and referring physicians. This also includes interaction with Clinical Staff, Call Center staff and Management. The Treatment Coordinator will also be required to know and follow all Colorado Retina Associates Policies and Procedures.

    Role and Responsibilities:

    • Download patient labs from the lab portal
    • Follow up on missing imaging, testing, lab orders etc.
    • Renew standing orders
    • ERX both new and refills
    • Complete Patient paperwork (FMLA, DMV, work releases, tax documents etc.)
    • Clear Faxes as needed
    • Review and upload all items received (labs, testing documents, correspondence)
    • Manage Triage calls and questions for Uveitis patients received by phone, Voicemails or emails
    • Obtain referrals and authorizations from insurance companies as needed for any outside testing, treatments, infusions, other various medication required for treatment of Uveitis and all associated diagnosis
    • Counsel and educate patients on the diagnosis and medications regarding their care
    • Monitor Humira portal
    • Update drug changes
    • Handle prescription refill request with both local and specialty mail order pharmacies.
    • Complete and file appeals with insurance companies for medications an/services denied by insurance
    • Complete Infusion orders as needed
    • Reportability – Health Board
    • Help guide surgery schedulers with Biopsy orders as needed for surgeons
    • Direct and constructive communication with Clinical staff, Physicians, Management
    • Maintain a professional demeanor at all times, including high-pressure situations
    • Take initiative to problem solve issues in real time
    • Attend scheduled meetings
    • Other duties as assigned

    Education and Experience:

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Medical Assistant and /or Ophthalmology experience preferred

    Preferred Skills/Experience:

    • Excellent communication skills
    • Excellent attendance and punctuality
    • Exceptional communication and prioritization skills
    • Ability to multi-task
    • Good typing skills
    • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
    • Knowledge of General Ophthalmology preferred
    • Knowledge of insurances CRA physicians accept
    • Knowledge of NextGen EPM and Nextech EHR
