Job Summary:
The Credentialing and Initial Certification
Pediatric Subspecialty Administrator manages the tracking and credentialing processes for fifteen initial certification exams, adhering to the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) initial certification admission requirements for new applications and reapplications. The responsibilities include verifying applicants' credentials according to ABP regulations, clinical and professional competencies, research requirement, and other admission requirements. The position collaborates with program directors, coordinators, and other ABP stakeholders to ensure tracking data is received for credential purposes, accurate record-keeping, and adherence to record management policies.
Additionally, the position serves as a quality assurance agent, recognizing and addressing irregularities and exceptions during the tracking and credentialing process
and the online application registration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administers processes for credentialing pediatric subspecialty applicants.
- Serves as a resource on the general and specific eligibility criteria for the fifteen subspecialty disciplines and performs as the case administrator for assigned subspecialty exams for spring and fall subspecialties.
- Verifies the qualifications of pediatric subspecialists according to ABP admission requirements for initial certification in the pediatric subspecialties.
- Engages with program directors, coordinators, applicants, diplomates, and ABP staff through verbal and written communication.
- Monitors the tracking of trainees during the fellowship, addressing training irregularities through the online tracking system.
- Coordinates essential components related to exam milestones, registration announcements, and online application testing.
- Determines if the Scholarly Activity requirement was met to take an initial subspecialty exam.
- Maintains and creates accurate records to document the tracking and credentialing of trainees and applicants for initial certification.
- Provides quality assurance in preparing for open registration and releasing credentialing documents, test results, and announcements to the intended recipient (e.g., applicants, program directors, and program coordinators).
Other Functions:
- Identifies and collaborates with CIC management regarding areas for improvement.
- Assists in the consistent documenting of procedures.
- Serves as a backup for other subspecialty team members.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
- Four-year college degree in liberal arts, business administration, health care administration, or other related fields and/or five (5) additional years of experience beyond the required experience requirement listed.
- Requires at least five (5) years of experience in a business environment with responsibility for coordinating and managing a project.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Credentialing Specialist Certification: Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional in Medical Services Management (CPMSM)
Travel Required:
Travel is expected to be between 0% - 5% of the time.
Salary Range:
$75,000 - $78,000
Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
The setting for this role will include office and healthcare settings. Exposure to controlled temperature environments, both hot and cold, is to be expected.
Physical Demands:
The expected physical workload is expected to be Sedentary work, as described below.

: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
