- The duties listed below are at the full performance level.
- Manages aircraft, duties may include coordinates, supervises, and approves maintenance on aircraft which can include non-certificated former military, FAA certificated production, or modified production aircraft supporting operations.
- Assesses aviation maintenance facilities and equipment and determines suitability for accomplishing assigned maintenance tasks.
- Serves as a primary contact point with the aviation organization(s) in regards to aircraft and maintenance requirements.
- Participates in the approval inspection and surveillance of operations and has broad authority to negotiate with management and make technical determinations within the coverage of approved specifications and policy manuals.
- Independently plans and conducts a wide range of assignments including those that involve compliance, safety issues or other projects.
- Coordinates with various manufactures, FAA, and industry groups regarding inspections, modifications, certification requirements, evaluation procedures, and compliance with regulatory and aviation safety standards.
