We have an excellent opportunity for a Piping Engineer.

Working under the direction of a Senior Piping Engineer/Specialist, the Piping Engineer assists in conducting the required tasks to assist in the piping scope of projects. The Piping Engineer must be capable of some independent judgement in selecting and applying engineering principles and concepts.

Responsibilities:

Perform visual/manual calculations of piping systems
Specify standard pipe supports and locations
Design special supports (to be verified by supervisor)
Interface with other disciplines (piping design, civil/structural, etc.)
Understand P&ID's, GA's and other reference drawings
Model and analyze piping systems using Autopipe: Does not include critical systems (boilerfeed, HP steam, etc.)
Qualify rotating and static equipment nozzle loads
Compile stress analysis calculation packages
Perform department calculations (wall thickness, flange leak, etc.)
Basic knowledge of piping design principles
Basic knowledge of ASME piping and related codes & standards
Understand and follow company policies/procedures/standards/guidelines
Travel to client/vendor sites as required

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related science from a four (4) year accredited college or university, or equivalent education
1 to 5 years related experience in engineering
Engineering experience utilizing ASME B31.3 "Process Piping" and/or ASME B31.1 "Power Piping" is preferred
Experience with Autopipe (or similar) stress analysis software is preferred
AutoCAD software proficiency is preferred
Fundamentals of Engineering Exam registration required
