We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Medical Billing Clerk to join a healthcare team.

The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of medical billing processes, including insurance claim filing, and accounts receivable management.

As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the financial health of the practice by efficiently processing billing transactions, addressing patient billing inquiries, and resolving any billing discrepancies.

salary:
$15 - $18 per hour

First

work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM


education:
High School

Responsibilities

• Review patient bills for accuracy and completeness and obtain any missing information.
• Knowledge of insurance guidelines, including HMO/PPO, Medicare, Medicaid, and other payer requirements and systems.
• Submit claims to insurance companies and follow up on any issues.
• Process payments from insurance companies and reconcile any discrepancies.
• Manage patient billing inquiries and resolve billing disputes.
• Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe.
• Check each insurance payment for accuracy and compliance with contract discounts.
• Identify and bill secondary or tertiary insurances.
• Review accounts for possible assignment and make recommendations to the Billing Supervisor.
• Prepare, review, and send patient statements.
