**Job Summary**: The Buyer Summer help position will focus on daily activities that directly support the Purchasing team. Performs clerical duties, assists with inventory control, and logistics as required for internal and external customers.

**Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Job Requirements:**

Provide logistical analysis in support of the evaluation, selection, and integration of the supply base.

Support the implementation and growth of company manufacturing and quality processes with the companys facilities to achieve manufacturing and quality standards.

Facilitate and manage the procurement and planning of all materials.

Analysis of costs and potential areas of waste with goal of reductions in cost, lead time, inefficiency, etc.

Ensure alignment of the business and sourcing strategies through the fostering of a communication and supplier integration plan.

Track inventory turns, measure inventory accuracy and implement improvement procedures.

**Skills/Experience Required:**

Understanding integral functions of a purchasing department.

Expressing professional communication, both written and spoken are basic to this position.

Flexibility in multiple job venues and the ability to organize and manage projects in a timely manner are vital.

The use of good communication skills is necessary with internal and external customers.

Understanding and experience in logistics & transportation as well as Lean

Experience in a professional environment is preferred.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes, charts and graphs, process flows and value stream maps; drivers license (good driving record).

**Education Requirements:** Working on degree in a related field preferred.
