    Summary:
    As a Portfolio Manager, you will oversee the marketing and sales strategy for our North Bay suppliers.

    You will provide inspiration and leadership while collaborating with our Field Managers, Sales Representatives, Marketing Team and ultimately our broad customer base.

    This is a highly visible role as it requires relationship building with our supplier/partners while aligning the proper strategy in the marketplace to meet our common objectives.

    The successful candidate will need to meet these requirements and have prior experience in the wine industry.

    Responsibilities:
    Major Duties
    Grow sales through effective organization, superior product knowledge/communication/education and direct market work with customers, sales representatives, and field managers.
    Work with suppliers to create pricing strategy to maximize revenue and optimize profitability.
    Create and communicate comprehensive marketing strategies by brand to achieve agreed upon sales targets in each region. Execution of strategies will assist sales teams in reaching territory goals, growing distribution, and maximizing goal performance.

    Assist and support sales teams in identifying and opening prospective accounts, expanding our business in existing accounts, and creating feature/event opportunities in conjunction with our sales reps and suppliers.

    Assist and support buying team in purchasing decisions, maintaining optimal inventory levels and turnover while minimizing aged inventory.

    Assist and execute supplier market visits with key accounts and territories as well as develop trade and supplier events: tastings, luncheons, winemaker dinners, retail consumer events, etc.

    Provide weekly reporting to Director of Portfolio Management regarding follow up and sales plans. Reporting should include communication of strategy on focus brands and update on agreed brand and territory initiatives.
    Analyze sales trends to identify changing market conditions and maximize sales growth and brand development opportunities.
    Prepare and present seminars on producers, regions, categories, varietals, and competitors at regular sales meetings. Develop and leverage relationships with all levels of the trade.
    Assist in developing sales strategy/education with shared brands in the Hawaii market.
    Keys to Success
    Exceptional Wine knowledge and passion for the luxury domestic category.
    Prior Portfolio Management or sales team experience.
    Demonstrated experience in developing and executing marketing campaigns.
    Understanding of, and meaningful relationships in, the on/off premise marketplace.
    Ability to train and influence others on how to attain organizational and brand objectives.

    Requirements/Qualifications:
    Minimum 5 years of fine wine sales experience with a demonstrated record of performance.
    Proven sales ability in the California market.
    Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to direct and motivate sales staff.
    A clear understanding of the restaurant and fine wine retail business in our market.
    Certified course work in SWE, WSET, or Court of Master Sommeliers preferred.
    Strong analytical, written, and verbal reasoning skills.
    Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, & PowerPoint.
    Excellent communication and relationship building skills
    Ability to lift 40 lbs.
    Must reside within the San Francisco Bay area.
