    Position Summary
    The Department of Mathematics and Economics at Bryant University invites applications for two full-time faculty positions at the Visiting Assistant Professor / Assistant Professor of Practice / Lecturer in Economics level. The appointment level will be based on the candidate's qualifications and experience. Each position is initially for one to three years (pending an annual review of the candidate, university funding, and departmental needs). These positions are non-tenure track appointments with an opportunity for continual renewal. An advanced degree in economics is required (ABD or PhD preferred), and ideal applicants will have strong evidence of teaching effectiveness.

    Applicants should be able to contribute to the department through dynamic teaching of principles of microeconomics and macroeconomics classes and will have the opportunity to teach upper-level courses in their preferred field(s). All economic fields will be considered. However, the successful candidates will have the ability to teach diverse data analytics and data visualization techniques applied to either microeconomics or macroeconomics. Participation in departmental service such as student advising, program planning, and admissions-related events is expected.

Bryant is located in Smithfield, RI, and is 15 minutes northwest of Providence, RI, and one hour south of Boston, MA.

    Principal Accountabilities
    Additional expectations include a 4-4 teaching load with a maximum of 2 course preps per semester (with Bryant class sizes generally being capped at 35). Certain requirements are subject to possible modification to reasonably accommodate persons with disabilities.

    Qualifications
    • An advanced degree in economics is required (PhD preferred).
    • Successful candidates must have potential for strong teaching and evidence of significant engagement with economics.
    • Regular attendance at assigned job site and the ability to work collaboratively with co-workers and constituents are essential functions of this position.
