    Required Certifications & Qualifications
    • Current State of Connecticut Teaching Certificate #070 as a school psychologist
    OR
    • Current State of Connecticut School Social Work Certificate #071
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Ability to organize and coordinate work.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven ability to professionally and effectively communicate with students, educators, parents, and community stakeholders
    • Patient demeanor with the ability to relate to, empathize with, and show compassion for a variety of personalities
    • Knowledge of differentiated instruction based upon students' style of learning
    • Experience in behavior management and ability to manage uncooperative behaviors
    • Experience with students displaying social/emotional/behavioral needs
    Essential Skills, Knowledge Performance Abilities
    • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with students, parents and staff
    • Knowledge of Planning and Placement Team processes
    • Experience with conducting psychoeducational evaluations and interpreting test results
    • Strong communication skills to articulate programming needs and progress to students, families and school personnel
    • Expertise in identifying counseling needs and in the facilitation of high quality counseling services to individual students and on a small group basis
    Additional Duties
    • Perform all other duties that may be assigned by the Director of Special Education and Pupil Personnel Services and/or the Building Administrator
    Terms of Employment
    • Monday - Thursday 8:45am - 11:45am
