    Job Title: Medical Assistant I/II/III (MA I/II/III)- Gastroenterology

    Location: North Houston Campus

    Qualifications


    Education


    Required: High School Diploma or GED; graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program or school.


    Preferred: N/A


    Experience


    Medical Assistants work under the supervision of a Physician, Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse to provide patient care functions for assigned clinical areas. The role involves ensuring the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational and professional standards.


    Responsibilities may include taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, administering medications, performing administrative tasks, and maintaining accurate records.


    The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.


    Requirements


    Medical Assistants must complete a review/skill validation program within 90 days of hire. Additionally, they must be able to use equipment and related supplies for selected patient populations, have computer experience, and basic medical/nursing terminology.


    Special Considerations


    Depending on the level of experience, Medical Assistants may perform additional duties such as administration of injectables or other high-level skill performance.
