    Description

    Role

    The work hours are from 8:45AM to 3:15PM four days a week and from 8:45AM to 4:15PM one day a week. An education support role involves tasks aligned with guidelines, accepted practices, and school policies under supervision. This includes coordinating other support staff or educational programs.

    Supporting educational services for students, without teacher duties as per Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor. May involve supervising students individually or in groups of up to four in controlled situations.

    Qualifications of up to three years may be necessary. Undertaking specific support tasks, being accountable for a single function or coordinating a work area under supervision.

    • Assist students in specific learning areas.
    • Facilitate communication between students and teachers.
    • Provide basic care for students.
    • Participate in team meetings.
    • Assist with various student activities and needs.
    • Prepare resources and equipment for students.
    • Set up teaching materials.
    • Observe and report on student behavior.
    • Evaluate programs and students' achievements.
    • Help with meal services for students.
    • Maintain clean work areas and equipment.

    Location Profile

    Niddrie Autistic School in South West Victoria Region provides education for students with autism from Prep to Year 3. Emphasizes excellence, individualized education plans, and student development.

    School location is north of CBD, enrolls students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, focuses on social communication development.

    Intensive programs aim for successful student transitions to mainstream or special schools. School has 112 students from diverse areas, state-of-the-art facilities, and ongoing redevelopment plans.

    Transition support post-year 3 is a key priority.
