Job description
A Day in the Life of a Resource Pool CNAThe Resource CNA provides basic patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates individual patient care within the scope of his/her training and experience. Assigned to multiple units according to distribution of staff and patients.

- Provides direct patient care including but not limited to assistance with bathing, eating, dressing, and walking patients.
- Keeps record of care given.
- Takes vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, and pulse oximetry) and performs adult bedside blood glucose monitoring when appropriate.
- Turns and repositions patients to prevent breakdown of their skin.
- Changes bed linens as necessary.
- Transports patients and equipment as needed within the facility.
- Monitors patients and reports any variances to the RN for further assessment.
- Works collaboratively with the RN in charge to meet physicians, coworkers, management and other department's needs.
- Participates in bedside shift report.
- Provides unit support as needed, which may include answering and relaying patient calls, accepting and relaying other communications, performing clerical tasks, completing and maintaining reports and records, or ordering supplies.
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to work independently with sound judgment and attention to detail
- Verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with others
- Wyoming Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license
- Cheyenne Regional AHA RQI within 14 calendar days of start date
- 6 Months: Mandatory Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification/training within six (6) months of start date
- Prior acute care experience
- Six (6) or more months of experience as a CNA
