    Description

    Are you looking to further your career as a Structural Engineer in the Aerospace industry? PDS Tech is looking for an engineer with a structural analysis background to assist in generating the structural engineering analysis package to demonstrate compliance of tooling fixtures such as assembly & lifting jigs in an aerospace fabrication environment.

    Responsibilities

    • Analyze, research and provide input on product design, or operation of product involving metals, non-metallic or composite structural materials.
    • Structural analysis methods (FEMAP/NATSRAN) of metallic and composite structures.
    • Work with internal/external customers and colleagues to ensure that the design meets customer needs.
    • Assist in the design of industrial tools, composite dies, drill fixtures, machine attachments and equipment, required for production or experimental use.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's (STEM) Degree with 5 years of experience OR Master's (STEM) Degree with 3 years of experience in medium to large scale tooling fabrication and/or production fabrication including composites, metallic, coatings application, and/or production manufacturing operations.
    • Professional Engineering License (preferably from California – consideration will be given if candidate is within 1 year of completing certification)
    • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret or Top Secret Clearance as well as Program Special access

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with industry standard aerospace to conceptualizing designs using 3D modeling tools including NX & CATIA
    • Creating drawings for fabrication via CAD, with properly laid out views and dimensions that are in compliance with ASME Y14.1-5 standards.
    • Direct Aerospace Tooling experience
    • Experience with fabrication applying such factors as accessibility, economy, mobility, and performance requirements.
    • Direct experience with Tooling mechanics and analysis relative to stress
    • Current/active DOD Secret clearance with an investigation date/periodic review within the last 5 years
    • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
