    BrightStar Care of Pensacola is looking for compassionate, hard-working, and reliable RNs to care for ourInfusionclients in theSanta Rosa, Okaloosa, and Walton County.

    Job description:

    The infusion/wound care nurse is responsible for the assessment, treatment, and ongoing management of patients with wounds and those requiring infusion therapy. This role involves collaborating with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans tailored to individual patient needs.

    Registered Nurse (RN)Responsibilities:

    • Provide1:1 care in the patients home.
    • Implement treatment and plan of care using sound judgment and critical thinking.
    • Maintainaccurate, detailed, andtimelydocumentation consistent with the care plan and nursing processes.
    • Perform all skills, treatments, and procedures to the scope of practice defined in the Nurse Practice Act in the state of clinical practice and adhere to thecompanypolicy, procedures, and protocols.

    Wound Assessment and Management:

    • Conduct thorough assessments of wounds, including wound, appearance, size, depth, and characteristics.
    • Identify factors contributing to delayed wound healing and develop appropriate treatment plans.
    • Cleanse and dress wounds as prescribed, while using aseptic techniques.
    • Apply dressings, topical medications, and other wound care products as prescribed.
    • Monitor wound healing progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly and educate patients on wound care techniques, prevention strategies, and signs of complications.

    Infusion Therapy Administration:

    • Administer intravenous (IV) medications, fluids, and other therapies as prescribed by physicians.
    • Ensure the proper selection, insertion, and maintenance of vascular access devices (e.g., peripheral IV lines, central venous catheters).
    • Monitor patients during infusion therapy for adverse reactions, complications, and educate patients and caregivers on infusion therapy procedures, potential side effects, and self-care measures.

    Collaboration and Communication:

    • Collaborate with physicians, wound care specialists, and other healthcare team members to develop comprehensive care plans.
    • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers regarding treatment plans, progress, and follow-up care instructions.
    • Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in electronic medical records.
    • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and case conferences to review patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
