    Position Description:
    Coordinates daily operations of clinical research studies in assigned department(s).

    This includes but is not limited to overall clinic conduct, marketing, and data management of all clinical research activities in assigned department(s).

    Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include training new employees; assisting with planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and dangerous bodily fluids. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Approximately 5-15% travel (often long-distance) is required.

    Major/Essential Functions:

    • Coordinate activities with pediatric care organizations to re-start the Consortium for children.
    • Coordinate efforts to support the faculty and particularly my office to develop programs, research and ideas that can get funded.
    • Coordinate efforts working with Border programs in Child physical and sexual abuse through research and work with the ACCEP(Advocacy Center for children of El Paso) Maybe also coordinate with the SANE program at EPCH.
    • Work with the El Paso Pediatric Society and faculty and residents in the development of projects to support advocacy for children.
    • Work and strengthen interactions with the Schools Districts (policy development , educational programs and report of health related issues and incidents).
    • Development of the Adopt a Family project from the ground up by starting and coordinating meetings to be able to complete the grant request.
    • Adhere to all TTUHSCEP policies, procedures and processes,
    • Personally demonstrate, display, and act in accordance with TTUHSCEP's values (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork). Actively promote and encourage staff across the institution.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bilingual Preferred.
    • Current certification as a Clinical Research Coordinator.
    • Experience working with clinical (pharmaceutical) research trials.
    • Experience working with IRB.
    • Experience in the peer-review research publication process.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Healthcare related training with current licensure/certification in their field OR
    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university with a major in the area of research being conducted.
    • Certification:
    • Certified Clinical Research Professional as defined by The Society of Clinical Research Associates or Certified Clinical Research Coordinator as defined by the Association of Clinical Research Professionals. OR
    • Ability to obtain certification as a Clinical Research Professional/Coordinator within two years from date of hire or upon eligibility.
