    Description


    We are seeking an Experienced Federal Systems Accountant to provide accounting reconciliation , financial reporting , and month-end closing support to our F ederal agency client.

    This is a great role for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment working in multiple areas of accounting.

    This individual will work in a cross-functional team and will be required to meet monthly and quarterly deadlines.

    The successful candidate will have experience reconciling USSGL accounts , analyzing financial statement line items, and transform ing accounting data into explanations for program activity.


    What you will do in the role:

    Review and assess compliance of standard operating procedures ( SOP ) for the clients accounting function .Leverage understanding of USSGL and Federal financial reporting requirements (OMB Circular A-136) to ensure transparent, accurate , and complete financial informatio n .Develop consolidated financial statements, notes, and related audit support documentation in compliance with Federal Accounting Standards.

    Perform financial statement analytical review and compile and analyze Federal financial statements and footnote disclosures .Research financial statement line-item fluctuations for comparative years and provid e detailed responses.

    Create monthly and quarterly journal entries with supporting documentation, including analysis .Assist in developing requirements and cross-walking changes from updated or new Federal financial management guidance, laws, and regulations , to related policies, procedures, and/or systems .Draft accounting position papers and w rite and update accounting policies .Document financial reporting processes based on statement of work.

    Prepare and conduct presentations and prepare technical briefings to Castro Senior Management.
    Engage in daily interaction with senior management, federal finance and budget staff as well as auditors .


    Your Qualifications:
    Must have a minimum of three (3) Years Federal accounting experience. Minimum BA/BS, preferably in a Business- or Business-related field.
    M inimum BA/BS, preferably in an Accounting or Business-related field.

    Experience working with United States General Ledger (USSGL) .Experience p erforming month-end financial close reconciliations .Oracle Federal Financials version R12 or similar COTS package experience.

    Ability to work independently .Demonstrated ability to monitor and train staff.
    Experience using software packages that have the capability to prepare comprehensive documentation with both text and data analysis.

    At least 6 months of experience providing high quality process and procedure documentation related to financial processes or creating similar documentation for training .Demonstrated ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment with a track record of consistently meeting critical deadlines while producing quality and detailed work products.
