JOB SUMMARY:

CRC has an immediate need for a Korean Linguist to serve our customer in Quantico, Virginia


JOB DESCRIPTION:
Candidate provides foreign language interpretation and translation support to several intelligence Community member organizations, internal directorates, and divisions

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide written translations of collected material using syntax and expressions from Korean to English
• Provide written translations of materials derived from the collection of foreign media sources
• Provide interpretation of collected foreign language materials

Advise government lead on cultural, social, and ethnic significance of conversations, situations, documents, regions, and geographic areas MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to demonstrate professional-level proficiency in Korean and English and perform at Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) Level 3 or above in listening, reading, speaking, and writing in those languages
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a security background investigation and polygraph
• An active and current government clearance is required to be considered for this work.
• Experience with performing written Korean-to-English translation
• Knowledge of Korean culture, politics, military, economy, current events, and psychology
• Knowledge of standard Adobe and Microsoft Office products
• Ability to produce client-ready, time sensitive products and reports per client requirements
• Ability to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that may on occasion require working non-standard hours
• Deep regional expertise

Moderate to advanced computer skills ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (PREFERRED):

• Experience with DoD CI and collection initiatives or programs
• Experience as a CI or HUMINT officer
• Experience with Cyber threat analysis or computer network operations
• Experience with US counter-threat operations and analysis
• Experience with social networking platforms, applications, and trends
• Experience with additional languages or specific regional expertise a plus

BA or BS degree preferred NOTES:

• Very fast-paced, fluid environment
• May require working occasional night or weekend hours
• Linguists are required to perform a broad range of tasks, not just translation
• Linguists regularly use Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat as well as a variety of customized tools and databases
