- Approve all time off for clinical staff; sign time sheets.
- Organize continuing education for clinical staff.
- Hold monthly meetings with clinical staff.
- Oversees clinical equipment maintenance.
- A tested knowledge of the technical skills performed on the Epic, fundus camera, VF, and WaveScan.
- Must be professional in appearance as outlined in employee handbook.
- Communicate with the doctors in writing and/or verbally all test findings on each patient.
- Must present to patients in a professional and friendly manner, always assisting in the safety and well being of each patient.
- Must demonstrate the ability to maintain patient flow at the pace dictated by each day's schedule.
- Prioritize duties in order to maintain the patient work flow.
- Patience shown in all circumstances to patients as well as co-workers.
- Ability to defuse angry or difficult patients and co-workers.
- Ability to balance compassion for the patient's problem and doctor's needs.
- Ability to assist patients and co-workers with self-less expectations except for the agreed compensation rate.
- Extensive experience in an ophthalmology office.
- Continuing education courses as required to update certification or requested by the doctors.

Description
Oversees all aspects of the clinical department (including but not limited to): scheduling daily staffing assignments, directing clinic flow, policing workforce, training new employees, staff evaluations, discipline/counseling, continued education, equipment maintenance, and participate in the hiring and terminations of clinical personnel.
SPECIFICALLY:
DAILY EXPECTATIONS: Supervisor will police the halls, alcoves and all areas of the clinic, seeing that staff is meeting the requirements of the work flow. Supervisor will make revisions as necessary. Supervisor will fill in temporarily on epic, workup, testing, or scribe as needed if staff shortages dictate. Supervisor will also dismiss staff in a timely manner at the end of each day when doctors' schedules are finished and peripheral clinic duties have been addressed.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP:
Reports directly to the Office Administrator and the Physicians.
