    GENERAL SUMMARY:
    The Director of Innovative Home Services (IHS) oversees the private duty services agency in the community.

    The Director of IHS initiates, implements, and evaluates goals and objectives for quality private duty services which meet and promote the standards of excellence and quality, and contributes to the total organization.


    PRINCIPLE DUTIES:

    • Provides leadership in the development of objectives, standards of care, and policies and procedures affecting IHS.
    • Coordinates and oversees client services provided by agency personnel in partnership with the IHS Manager, as applicable.
    • Determines client needs and assigns appropriate personnel.
    • Directs implementation of improved work methods and procedures to ensure provision of high-quality services.
    • Instructs and guides personnel in promoting effective performance outcomes and service excellence.
    • Is always available during operating hours either in person or through technology (phone, video call).
    • Facilitate care conference meetings when needed with agency and community personnel, clients, family members and/or health care practitioners.
    • Establishes and maintains an ongoing marketing plan to increase awareness of services provided and improve utilization, increase revenue, and maintain quality service.
    • Maintains adequate and appropriate inventory supplies and equipment for the provision of client services.
    • Evaluates performance of staff. Conducts annual evaluations of direct reports, or more frequently if indicated.
    • Recruits, hires, evaluates, and terminates agency personnel.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    • Develops, implements, and evaluates the orientation program for new agency personnel. Orients or delegates orientation of new agency personnel.
    • Plans, implements, and evaluates training program, competencies, and skills development.
    • Provides training and guidance to staff for performance improvement opportunities.
    • Directs daily business operations and implements financial policies, accounting system and cost controls.
    • Reviews financial statements, operating results, and performance evaluations on an on-going basis. Performs payroll and billing duties with the support of the IHS Manager, as applicable.
    • Oversees the admissions process and assures enforcement of the agreements.
    • Acts as liaison to the community Leadership team and attends meetings as requested.
    • Assists the Director of Financial Services in the preparation and administration of the IHS budget.
    • Collaborates with the Human Resources department to establish personnel policies and procedures including wages, salaries and benefits and assures compliance with applicable laws.
    • Interprets operational indicators to detect changes that could impact staffing levels, revenues, or expenses.
    • Oversees maintenance of client records in compliance with IHS standards and state/accreditation regulations.
    • Uses statistics from reports and records to evaluate and report agency activities.
    • Evaluates agency performance via QA program, performance improvement program, productivity, quarterly and annual reviews.
    • Ensures high quality and safe delivery of services provided.
    • Assists in the development of community and organization goals. Develops, recommends, and administers organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
    • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal laws regarding licensure and certification of agency personnel as applicable and all other federal, state, and accreditation regulations.
    • Stays informed about changes in the field of private duty, non-medical care, and shares information with appropriate agency personnel.
    • Assists in formulation, revision, implementation, and evaluation of policies and procedures and strategic plans.
    • Oversees the Emergency Management Plan process for the IHS program.
    • Demonstrates behaviors that support organizations' mission and values.
    • On occasion, provides services for clients under the scope of their expertise, training, and licensure.
    • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • RN/LPN for applicable state is preferred but not required.
    • Three years of management experience in a private duty or related organization preferred.
    • Has presented a pre-employment physician's health clearance including a negative TB Blood Drawl or Chest X-ray and other tests as required by organization policy.
    • Has excellent observation and communication skills.
    • Is self-directed with the ability to work with little supervision.
    • Is flexible and cooperative in fulfilling obligations.
