- Talk to patients and make sure they feel comfortable and taken care of before, during, and after the examination
- Conduct initial screenings for patients to understand their oral health history
- Educate patients of all ages on how to take care of their teeth through good flossing and brushing twice daily
- Work with dentists to decide the best form of treatment for a variety of dental disease
- Make impressions of patients' teeth to ensure their mouthguards, dentures, etc. are made correctlyQualifications
- Associate's degree and certification in dental hygiene program required, higher levels of education are highly valued
- Has dental hygienist licensure in the state where the job is located
- Current CPR certification
