    JOB TITLE:
    Electrical Engineer, Aircraft Systems

    SUMMARY:


    This position will require the Electrical Engineer to perform assignments for a broad scope of aerospace engineering projects which require the application of standard techniques, detailed procedures, and defined criteria to carry out a sequence of related design engineering tasks.

    The Electrical Engineer will develop detailed design documents, drawings, and analyses for assigned projects. This position will not have direct supervisory responsibilities.


    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Support the Lead Electrical Engineer on design, analysis, fabrication, and testing of electrical systems and components.
    Provide electrical engineering design and analysis for Project Engineers on specific programs
    Conduct Electrical design of aircraft systems and subsystems including sensors, actuators, and power distribution.
    Perform analytical system design and supporting calculations.
    Prepare engineering documentation and reports detailing system design and analysis.
    Participate on development of proposals and feasibility studies.
    Assesses, evaluate, and improve electrical design to avoid conflicts in installation or operation.
    Work closely with project managers, engineers, and designers to understand workflow, design process, budgets, and deadlines.
    Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
    Ensure designs comply with customer, industry, company, and regulatory specifications, requirements, and best practices.

    Conduct schematic capture, bill of material management, and PCB design using Circuit Studio, Altium Designer, or Open-Source design packages (KiCad).

    Prepare for SRR/PQR and CDR presentation material.
    Build/fabricate protype and test hardware.
    Build code and design algorithms for support aircraft functionality.
    Design AP/ML type functions.
    Prepare Technical Proposal for project 120 (UAS)
    Bring electrical drawings to production standard


    KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
    Basic understanding of computers and programming languages (C/C++, MATLAB, Excel, Power Point)
    Hands on with hardware and tools (o-scope/multimeter) at internships or project experience
    Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of electrical schematics, drawings, block diagrams, and models,
    Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
    Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment


    PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
    3 to 5 years' experience in aerospace or simulation lab environment
    Experience with avionics equipment.
    Proficient in embedded C/C++ for ARM based microcontrollers
    Familiar with I2C/SPI/Serial interfacing protocols
    Ability to write low level device drivers
    Experience with PX4/Ardupilot autopilots and Mavlink communications protocol


    EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS / CLEARANCES:
    BS degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering from an accredited college or university
