Laguna Beach Animal Hospital is hiring a Veterinary Technician Assistant to join our growing team

Essential Functions:

• Maintain cleanliness, inventory stocking, equipment and supplies of hospital
• Ability to lift at least 45 pounds without assistance
• Bending, twisting, stretching, pushing, lifting, standing, pulling, reaching frequently throughout the day, 45 pounds without assistance
• Administer Treatments at Direction of RVT and DVMs
• Animal Restraint (cats, dogs, up to 45 pounds without assistance in some cases)
• Wound Care, Bandaging, Splinting
• Collect Laboratory Samples, Prepare, Process and Interpret In-House or Prepare and Send for Reference Laboratory (blood, urine, tissue, feces, etc)
• Assist in euthanasia, prepare patient remains
• Take and assist in taking x-rays
• Monitor hospitalized and post-op patients
• Administer vaccines and maintain working knowledge of vaccine protocol
• Client Communication
• Monitor Inpatients
• Prepare patients for procedures
• Record treatments and other medical information in computer system.
• Follow all protocols determined by patient care coordinator
• Other duties as assigned

Schedule:

• 8 hour shifts
• Weekend availability required

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with a hourly pay rate starting at $18/hour.
