    Sushi Chef Job Description

    At k-va-t, we're looking for an experienced Sushi Chef to join our team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for producing high-quality sushi for our in-store fresh sushi program.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Acknowledge and engage with all customers while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
    • Prepare finfish, shellfish, and fresh produce items for use in sushi preparation.
    • Maintain food safety records and ensure the quality of sushi rice.
    • Assemble, package, and label various forms of sushi, sides, and spring rolls for customer sale.
    • Customize sushi rolls according to customer requests.
    • Train and assist other associates as needed.
    • Adhere to Food City policies and government regulations regarding food safety and quality control.
    • Inspect and maintain product quality standards.
    • Monitor ingredient temperatures and shelf lives.
    • Ensure workstation cleanliness at all times.
    • Be knowledgeable about the sushi menu and ingredients.
    • Actively market the Food City Sushi Program through regular sampling.
    • Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies.
    • Communicate customer feedback to the Meat Department Manager.
