    Remote/Telecommuting No remote/telecommuting opportunity Position Summary POSTING FOR UNMC EMPLOYEES ONLYThe Dispatch Supervisor oversees and coordinates the activities of the dispatch center and dispatch personnel; responsible for directing and supervising subordinate staff; assigns and delegates work projects; schedules employees to ensure and maintain proper staffing levels; conducts performance management including evaluating work performance, coaching, and mentoring; implements corrective action for performance and conduct issues.

    The Dispatch Supervisor has the ability to perform the full range of dispatch duties in addition to overseeing the dispatch center operations.

    Duties are in support of medical staff and public safety officers, providing for the protection, safety, and security of students, faculty, and staff at UNMC and UNO, related properties, and visitors.

    Responsibilities also include troubleshooting critical operations programs to include computer-aided dispatch (CAD), criminal justice information systems, building access software and hardware inclusive of CCTV, alarm monitoring software, and performing a variety of support functions including alarm monitoring and processing, records management, found property management, and purchasing, supply and inventory.

    Dispatch experience that demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively in routine and stressful situations.

    Required License Yes If yes, what is the required licensure/certification? Must be able to successfully complete the NCIC Training course in the State of Nebraska within 12 months of employment.

    Must be able to obtain the Emergency Number Professional (ENP) designation through NENA within 24 months of employment.
