    Client Description

    Our client is a Global Manufacturer of Industrial Machinery Equipment and Tools. As they have been growing steadily for the last 75+ years, they are seeking a Category Manager for Mechanical and Electrical Commodities.

    Role Description

    The Category Manager will be responsible for managing Mechanical and Electrical categories with a domestic and international supplier base. This position will work cross functionally with product development, engineering, operations, logistics, and quality.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and execute category strategies aligned with the overall business objectives and market dynamics.
    • Conduct thorough market analysis, including supplier assessments, competitor benchmarking, and pricing trends, to identify opportunities and risks within the category.
    • Drive cost savings initiatives through effective negotiation, supplier relationship management, and contract optimization.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, sales, and operations teams to ensure alignment and integration of category strategies.
    • Continuously monitor and evaluate supplier performance, quality, and delivery metrics to maintain high standards and mitigate supply chain risks.
    • Lead supplier selection and qualification processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards for quality, sustainability, and ethical sourcing.
    • Proactively identify and address supply chain disruptions, working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to implement contingency plans and minimize impacts on production schedules.

    Qualifications

    • Must have 5+ years of experience in Manufacturing; Industrial or Machinery experience preferred.
    • Must have 5+ years of experience in Procurement/Category Management.
    • Must have at least a Bachelor's Degree.
    • Must have experience selecting and managing a supplier base.
