    Position OverviewArlo Solutions is in search of Personnel Security Specialist to support our government contract.

    The Personnel Security Specialist is responsible for managing and overseeing the personnel security clearance process, ensuring that individuals are appropriately vetted and authorized access to classified information, facilities, or sensitive materials.

    They implement and enforce security policies and procedures to protect organizational assets and mitigate risks related to personnel security.

    Job Responsibilities and/or Success FactorsSecurity Clearance Processing:
    Manage the entire lifecycle of security clearance applications, from initial submission to final adjudication.
    Conduct background investigations, including interviews, reference checks, and records reviews, to verify applicants' suitability for security clearances.

    Collaborate with government agencies, such as the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) or the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), to facilitate clearance determinations.


    Security Policy Compliance:
    Interpret and enforce organizational and government security policies, procedures, and regulations related to personnel security.
    Ensure compliance with requirements outlined in Executive Orders, National Security Directives, and other relevant directives.
    Provide guidance to employees and contractors on security clearance requirements and procedures.


    Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
    Assess security risks associated with individuals seeking access to classified information or sensitive areas.
    Identify and address potential security vulnerabilities through background investigations and continuous monitoring.
    Recommend risk mitigation measures to minimize threats to personnel security.


    Records Management:
    Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of security clearance applications, approvals, denials, and revocations.
    Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of sensitive personnel security information in accordance with applicable regulations.


    Training and Education:
    Develop and deliver training programs and materials on personnel security policies, procedures, and best practices.
    Educate employees and contractors on their responsibilities regarding safeguarding classified information and adhering to security protocols.


    Incident Response and Investigations:
    Respond to personnel security incidents, such as unauthorized disclosures or breaches of classified information.
    Conduct investigations to determine the cause of security incidents and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.


    Collaboration and Communication:


    Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Human Resources, Legal, and Information Security teams, to ensure alignment of personnel security efforts with organizational goals.

    Communicate effectively with government agencies, contractors, and other external partners involved in the security clearance process.
    Education and Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree with at least 5 years of experience in security.
    Must be a US CitizenPublic Trust clearance highly desiredExcellent oral and written communication skills.
    Experience in personnel security, background investigations, or security clearance adjudication.
    Knowledge of government security clearance processes, regulations, and procedures.
    Strong attention to detail and ability to conduct thorough and accurate investigations.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
    Proficiency in relevant computer applications and databases used for security clearance processing.
