    Job DescriptionA hospital facility located in Pittsburgh, PA is currently seeking a Medical Technologist / Medical Laboratory Scientist to join their team full timeCheck out the details below:

    Title: Medical Technologist / Medical Laboratory Scientist

    Job Type: Permanent / Direct Hire

    Setting: Hospital

    Location: Pittsburgh, PA (Brentwood area)

    Schedule: Night shift, 7PM-7AM

    Pay: competitive base pay plus shift differentials and benefits

    The Medical Technologist - Generalist/Core Lab duties to include but not be limited to:

    • Perform laboratory procedures using established and approved protocols that require the exercise of independent judgment and responsibility
    • Collect, report, and document clinical data
    • Maintain equipment and records and preform quality assurance activities related to test performance
    • Perform complex tests, analyze quality control data, answers inquiries and regarding test results, and evaluates new techniques
    • Provide accurate, timely and cost effective testing of patient samples to aid in the diagnosis and treatment
    REQUIREMENTS:


    • Bachelor's degree in a related field required (Biological/Physical Sciences or Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology)
    • Minimum of 6 years of laboratory experience; prefer generalist / core lab
    • Willingness to obtain Certification as a Medical Technologist / Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent
    • Certification as an EMT and/or ER experience is a plus
