    Pharmacy Technician (parttime)

    FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt

    Who You'll Work With:

    Reporting To: Director of Pharmacy

    Overview:

    Are you passionate about healthcare and pharmaceuticals? Join our team as a Pharmacy Technician, where you'll play a critical role in ensuring safe and effective medication distribution under the supervision of our experienced Staff Pharmacists. All of this, while strictly adhering to state and federal regulations.

    Qualifications:
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required
    • Completion of a specialized Pharmacy Technician program is preferred
    • Previous internship in a hospital pharmacy is a significant advantage.
    • Current Pharmacy Technician certification is required.

    Job-Specific Skills:
    • Expertise in Pharmacy Tech operations
    • Comprehensive understanding of medication distribution
    • Familiarity with branded and generic drugs
    • Ability to manage expired or damaged medications
    • Proficiency in medical and pharmacy terminology
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Advanced computer literacy, especially in PYXIS
    Essential Functions:
    • Coordinate medication logistics across departments
    • Prepare IV solutions with utmost precision
    • Assist in delivering medication to patients and nursing units
    • Carry out rounds for new medication orders and narcotic requisitions
    • Maintain accurate records and inventory, especially for narcotics
    • Handle phone inquiries, deferring complex questions to Pharmacists
    Physical Requirements:
    • Active role requiring standing and lifting up to 40 pounds
    • Clear vision and hearing are essential
    • Potential exposure to infectious diseases and diverse patient conditions
    Additional Information:
    • Emergency or irregular work hours may be required
