- Conduct comprehensive patient histories and physical examinations focused on musculoskeletal, neurological, and functional status.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., imaging, laboratory studies) in collaboration with supervising physician.
- Assess patient progress and adjust care plans in accordance with clinical findings and patient needs.
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans under the direction of the PM&R physician.
- Prescribe medications, therapies, and interventions as appropriate and within the scope of practice.
- Coordinate care with physical therapists, chiropractors, massage therapists, and other team members.
- Assist the physician with in-office procedures such as joint injections, nerve blocks, EMGs, and other rehabilitative interventions.
- Monitor patient responses to procedures and provide immediate post-procedure care and education.
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, preventing strategies, and rehabilitation goals.
- Promote patient engagement in therapy, adherence to care plans, and self-management techniques.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough electronic medical records in accordance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing PA practice.
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, case discussions, and care planning meetings.
- Contribute to a positive team environment through effective communication, respect, and professional integrity.
- Engage in ongoing education, training, and professional growth activities to maintain licensure and enhance clinical skills.
- Attend relevant conferences, workshops, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Active Colorado PA license.
- Level 1 Colorado WC certification .
- Experience in physical medicine and rehabilitation, orthopedics, neurology, or a related field preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
- BLS and ACLS certification.
- Passion for rehabilitation medicine and patient advocacy.
