The Department of General Services, The Division of Building Design and Construction (DBDC) is responsible for planning, designing, and constructing Montgomery County's public buildings to high performance standards while considering citizens' input, environmental, and economic concerns.

About The Position:

As a Construction Representative III, you will be in charge of overseeing the progress of building and site construction for various County Government Capital Improvement Program projects. Your role involves ensuring contractors adhere to construction requirements, standards, and quality, guaranteeing effective, timely, and safe construction for new buildings and major renovations.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor construction progress and verify compliance with construction plans, timelines, and regulations
• Conduct on-site observations, tests, and quality checks
• Ensure construction work meets specified standards and requirements
• Interact with stakeholders and ensure projects meet County's expectations

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience: Seven (7) years of experience in construction or inspection of commercial buildings, including electrical and mechanical systems.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent recognized in the State of Maryland.

Preferred Criteria:

• Knowledge of building construction standards and codes
• Experience in reading and interpreting construction plans
• Effective communication skills (oral and written)
• Proficiency in computer applications like MS Project, Excel, and Power Point
• Experience with construction management software such as BIM360
• Certificates in construction management
