    TNVH Lab Quality Assurance Coordinator, Full Time, Day Shift

    POSITION SUMMARY:
    Plans, coordinates and implements the quality management and improvement programs for the Core Laboratory. Monitors and provides assistance with quality assurance and compliance functions. Provides direction to ensure programs and services are implemented at the highest standards with emphasis on quality assurance. To be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Core Laboratory Quality Assurance Program. Ensures policies and procedures are monitored and updated to include regulatory changes.

    EDUCATION:
    Bachelor's Degree Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Science or a related field.

    EXPERIENCE:
    1 year of previous experience in the field of Clinical Laboratory Quality Assurance. 5 years of previous experience as a MT (ASCP) or MLS (ASCP) in the discipline of Hematology, and/or Chemistry.

    SPECIAL SKILLS:
    Registered Medical Technologist. Knowledge of regulatory standards and survey processes.

    Knowledge of quality improvement tools and techniques, excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to gather, analyze and communicate technical and clinical data.

    Microcomputer skills preferred.

    Proven interaction and communication (oral, writing, presenting) skills to effectively communicate (oral and written) with hospital staff, physicians, and regulatory agents and work cooperatively with same.

    Demonstrated competence, clinical expertise, and sound professional judgment.

    Ability to use effective time management to set priorities, performs job related responsibilities, and responds to changing workloads and work environment.

    Demonstrated ability to use effective analytical and critical thinking skills to problem-solve, make critical decisions, and meet departmental and organizational needs.

    Attention to details and the ability to perform work accurately, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure.
