    Description

    We are seeking a skilled Senior Commercial Lines Underwriter to join our team at Diedre Moire Corporation in Burlington, VT. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will play a critical role in developing business strategies and growing a profitable and sustainable book of business.

    The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and CPCU or equivalent, with 2-5 years of experience in a multi-line environment incorporating commercial general liability, property, automotive, workers comp, etc. You will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

    Responsibilities will include:

    • Developing business strategies, plans, and tactics aimed at building and growing a profitable and sustainable book of business.
    • Championing continuous improvement for underwriting processes, identifying areas of under-performance and establishing plans to rectify problems.
    • Participating in agent visits and providing expertise to underwriters.
    • Establishing and maintaining relationships with service and distribution partners.
    • Defining acceptable levels of risk, coverage and risk.
