Linux Systems Administrator
Responsibilities
Under general direction, perform Linux computer systems installation, configuration, administration, maintenance, trouble shooting, and end-user support for servers, workstations, laptops, and virtual machines.
Maintain computer systems in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.Assist in deployment and maintenance of engineering/scientific software applications on servers and end-user computer systems.
Perform computer systems audits for compliance with established information assurance policies and configuration guidelines.
Maintain computer hardware/software inventories.
Document computer system configurations.
Other related functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications
HS/GED
At least two(2) years' experience in Linux system administration.
Experience with commonly used concepts, practices, procedures and tools used in maintaining a Linux enterprise infrastructure: RedHat or Ubuntu Linux.
Experience with shell scripting:
Perl, Python, Bash or similar.
Experience with networking and host-based computer security monitoring.
Candidate will need to obtain a DoD 8570.1/8140 IAT Level II Certification, such as CompTIA CySA+ or Security+, within 6 months of hire date.
Must have a professional demeanor, be punctual and have the ability to work with little or no supervision.
Able to work under pressure and accept supervision.
Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at the level appropriate to the project requirements of the position
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
At least four years' experience in Linux system administration.
Current DoD 8570.1/8140 IAT II or greater certification for CySA+, Security+, GICSP, GSEC, or similar approved IA certifications.
Experience with system configuration management tools such as Salt, Kickstart, Cobbler, RHN Satellite, Ansible or Puppet.
Experience with orchestration software such as Kubernetes, Docker or Podman.
Experience with source code management tools such as Subversion or GIT.
Experience web and database hosting environments such as Apache, nginx, mysql/mariadb, or Postgres.
