Work Schedule:
Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday - 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm
Assignment Timeframe:
3 months (potentially longer)
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Under the direction of the Medication Clinic Manager and within established policies and procedures, serves a dual role completing both medical and administrative tasks. Utilizing all modules of the EMR, ensures patients are scheduled timely and appropriately based on chief complaint and/or clinic protocol. Collaborates with members of the clinical care team to improve access and continuously improve and simplify clinic processes. Performs administrative and medical support functions, many of which are confidential in nature. Responsible for supporting the delivery of appropriate, timely and beneficial care for patients.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: High school graduate or equivalent, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Completion of an accredited medical assistant or license practical nurse program resulting in Certification. Experience working with underserved and vulnerable populations and familiarity with mental health, substance abuse problems and medical terminology.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Keyboarding and computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, electronic medical/health records, and database management.
Must be able to exert 20 pounds of force frequently and/or consistently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Must be able to extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction; pick, pinch, type or otherwise primarily with fingers.
Must be able to apply pressure to an object with the fingers and palms.
Must be able to raise objects horizontally from position to position.
Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Walking and standing also required.
Valid Michigan Driver's license and use of a vehicle during working hours.
PREFERENCES: Mental Health experience preferred.
Veterans must submit Form DD214 to determine eligibility for Veterans' Preference
