    Duties and Responsibilities

    Customer Service

    • Deliver exceptional patient and customer service according to company standards
    • Analyze patient eyewear needs and recommend suitable solutions
    • Assist patients in selecting frames that meet their style and color preferences
    • Order and dispense eyewear accurately and professionally
    • Show patients how to properly care for their contact lenses
    • Collaborate with Optometrists on case histories and screenings

    Business and Operational Standards

    • Maintain thorough knowledge of third-party plans and claims
    • Explain promotions and special lens offerings to patients and customers
    • Balance accounts and prepare work orders for the Optical Lab
    • Process medical billing information
    • Ensure proper merchandising of frame inventory

    Requirements

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Maintain required state licensure
    • Become certified by completing Shopko OCE Certification requirements
    • Prior experience in an office or optical dispensing environment is preferred
    • Excellent communication and multitasking skills
    • Able to analyze prescriptions, repairs, and adjustments
