    Description
    Zepf Center has been serving the Lucas County community for nearly 50 years. We are the leading provider of behavioral health and substance use disorder services in Northwest Ohio.

    Services include adult and child psychiatric, substance abuse, case management, residential, Crisis Care, and therapy programs, as well as career development and wellness services.

    Zepf Center also offers primary care medical services to our patients to contribute to their continuum of care. Zepf Center is a trauma-informed agency and environment for both patients and staff.

    We are currently seeking a full time Counselor for our Opiate Treatment Program; Provides training and education to peers related to essential duties.


    • Develop individualized counseling, treatment and recovery programs that help to establish healthy behaviors and provide coping strategies.
    • Complete assessments, including SUD/ mental health assessments, and intake procedures for patient admission, as needed
    • Provide training on professional counseling matters to staff members.
    • Present educational programs in a group setting on such topics as: the disease of chemical dependency, AIDS, special population recovery issues, relapse, 12 step recovery, and family recovery issues.
    • Participate in regular patient staffing with appropriate treatment facility staff.
    • Develop and maintain liaisons with agencies to assist patients with accessibility to community resources.
    • Present community education and awareness programs to the public, as requested.
    • Work flexible hours depending on patient care and programmatic needs.
    A Bachelor 's degree or higher in Counseling, Social Work, Social Services, Human Services, or a related field and one year as a Counselor or equivalent paid social service experience; Prefer Masters Degree in Counseling, Social Work and/ or Rehabilitation Counseling

    • Maintenance of active status of a LCDC III, LSW, LPC, LPCC or LISW, including annual educational requirements.
    • Knowledge of the disease of chemical dependency and recovery including knowledge of family disease and recovery support groups.
    • Computer proficiency and literacy.
    • The ability to work with minimal supervision and to maintain discretion and sound judgment always.
