Position Summary
Mentoring Youth Through Technology (MYTT) is seeking a STEM Instructor to lead hands-on STEM programming for youth ages 6–18. This role is responsible for delivering structured, engaging instruction across areas such as coding, robotics, game development, 3D design, media, and technology.
The STEM Instructor leads classroom instruction, adapts curriculum to different age groups and skill levels, and ensures high-quality program delivery, while building mentoring relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging STEM lessons in areas such as coding, robotics, game development, 3D design, media, and related technologies.
- Facilitate hands-on learning experiences that promote creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving.
- Adapt curriculum and instruction to meet the needs of youth ages 6–18.
- Supervise and mentor students in a structured and respectful learning environment.
- Manage classroom setup, technology, materials, and cleanup.
- Monitor student participation and maintain appropriate classroom management.
- Track attendance and complete required documentation.
- Collaborate with MYTT staff and volunteers to support program goals.
Qualifications
Required
- Experience teaching or working with youth (ages 6–18) in a classroom, camp, or community setting
- Strong interest or background in one or more STEM areas (e.g., coding, robotics, media, design, entrepreneurship).
- Strong communication, leadership, teamwork, and classroom management skills.
- Comfortable using technology and performing basic troubleshooting.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must pass a background check.
Preferred
- Associate's or bachelor's degree (completed or in progress).
- Experience working with diverse learners.
Work Environment & Schedule
- Primarily after-school hours (approximately 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM on weekdays).
- Weekend programming typically 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM.
- The schedule varies based on program needs; hours are flexible.
- Onsite at MYTT program locations and partner schools.
- Active, youth-centered environment requiring movement and hands-on instruction.
