    AECOM's EPP group is growing in the Pacific Northwest and is seeking an experienced Environmental Planner to join our team. Successful candidates would join our diverse team to engage with our expanding pool of public and private sector clients to complete environmental compliance processes and documentation. While we anticipate that this position would focus on serving our client base in the Pacific Northwest, candidates should anticipate having opportunities on environmental planning and permitting projects across the continental United States, Alaska, and Hawaii. The primary work location is Portland, Oregon or Seattle, Washington.

Our Environmental Planning and Permitting (EPP) group is part of the Environment Business Line, responsible for environmental compliance of infrastructure projects for federal, state, and municipal agencies and private industry clients including work in the transportation, water, energy, ports, and mining sectors.

    The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

    * Support execution and delivery of environmental planning projects in collaboration with a broad and diverse range of technical specialists while meeting cost, schedule, safety, and quality objectives.

    * Provide project/task management or coordination, including implementation of scopes of work, financial and budgetary management, and schedule tracking.

    * Support proposal development with other managers and marketing support staff.

    * May serve as a project manager, deputy project manager, task manager, or technical specialist depending on the project assignment.

    * Supporting business development activities, such as proposal writing efforts.

    Minimum Requirements:

    * Bachelor's degree in environmental planning, landscape architecture, environmental science, biology, environmental planning, natural/biological resource management or other related field experience.

    * 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education in successfully supporting permitting and environmental impact analysis documents and associated technical studies and oversight of federal (National Environmental Policy Act [NEPA]) and state-specific (Washington State Environmental Policy Act [SEPA]), and local environmental permitting and compliance documents.

    * Valid U.S Driver's license is required.

    Preferred Skills and Experience:

    * Demonstrated experience in environmental planning and permitting efforts associated with the Pacific Northwest, specifically permitting by the Oregon and Washington Energy Facility Siting Councils (EFSC and EFSEC)

    * Knowledge of and experience applying the policies, standards, and regulations of County and municipal land use in Oregon and Washington.

    * Demonstrated experience in the preparation NEPA, SEPA, and/or CEQA environmental documents.

    * Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory requirements of Sections 401 and 404 of the Clean Water Act, the Endangered Species Act, and the National Historic Preservation Act.

    * Effective problem-solving abilities and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with members of the project team and clients.

    * Excellent written and spoken communication skills, organizational and time management skills, and flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects.

    * Proven organizational and time management skills, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently with limited supervision, as well as in a collaborative team environment.

    * Effective problem-solving abilities, writing and communication skills, and ability to communicate effectively with members of the project team.
