    Title:

    Jr IT Database Administrator

    Will manage database utilities and monitor relationship between users and applications. Applies understanding of relational databases concepts and query languages to design summary and aggregate tables which support analysis. Monitors, analyzes and resolves issues related to information flow and data architecture standards. Other responsibilities include development and implementation of standards, data modeling and space usage requirements. Under general supervision, and occasional direct supervision, performs assignments requiring experience and knowledge of standard concepts within their field. Displays core job competencies by analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures while developing advanced skills. Skills required for this job are typically acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree and 2+ years of experience.

    • Role and Responsibilities
      The Database Administrator (DBA) will be highly motivated and able to accurately complete projects with some guidance and will be committed to quality over quantity approach with a collaborative team mentality. The selected candidate will be largely responsible for providing operational database services. Primary responsibilities of this role would include owning, tracking and resolving database related incidents and requests, fulfilling requests and resolving incidents within SLAs, reviewing service related reports (e.g: database backups, maintenance, monitoring) on a daily basis to ensure service related issues are identified and resolved within established SLAs, responding to database related alerts and escalations and working with database engineering to come up with strategic solutions to recurring problems with emphasis on ensuring cybersecurity safeguards and measures are in place and current.
      This DBA role requires a service oriented mentality, high sense of ownership of the problems and requests assigned, focus on managing and resolving issues in alignment with the SLAs, establishing and maintaining communication with customers to keep them updated with status of their requests, initiating and performing changes on production systems and proactively escalating any issues that cannot be resolved within the established timeframes.
    • Education Requirements
      • Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and 2+ years of experience. Will consider 8+ years' experience acquired knowledge through practical experience and formal education in lieu of degree.
      • Must obtain CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification within six months of hire date
    • Required Experience:
      • Oracle, SQL Developer, SQL*Plus, Microsoft Access and JavaScript
      • Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assessment and Authorization process
      • Experience using vulnerability management tools or running Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance, and Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP)

      • Experience utilizing Microsoft (MS) Office Suite with emphasis on Word, PowerPoint and Visio
