    Description

    We are looking for a Purchasing Specialist

    Responsibilities:

    • Procurement Role: Responsible for purchasing goods and services needed for DoD contracts.
    • Supplier Relations: Build and maintain positive connections with suppliers and manufacturers.
    • Contract Understanding: Grasp the requirements of contracts, both domestic and international.
    • DoD Procurement Awareness: Stay updated on the latest developments in DoD procurement practices.
    • Purchase Order Management: Create purchase orders that meet the specifications of the main contracts.
    • Payment and Delivery Oversight: Ensure suppliers are paid on time and products are delivered as scheduled.
    • RFI/RFP Handling: Develop and distribute requests for information and proposals, managing supplier responses.
    • Proposal Support: Assist in proposal efforts by managing RFI/RFP tasks.
    • Supplier Performance Tracking: Keep tabs on supplier performance and share feedback with program teams.

    Qualifications:

    1. DoD Contracting Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience in U.S. DoD contracting or subcontracting.
    2. International Procurement Experience: At least 2 years interacting with manufacturers from around the world.
    3. Technical Document Competency: Ability to comprehend and utilize technical documentation required for defense subcontracts.
    4. Contract Negotiation: Experience negotiating contract terms, understanding their impact on business operations and finances (Certification preferred).
    5. Education: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
    6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
    7. Prior aerospace and defense industry experience is advantageous.
